Just as we know little of what the 21st century will bring, no one knows what is taking place inside an egg. Nor will they completely understand until it is hatched and God’s wonderful plan is revealed. The egg speaks of birth, of new things to come, things known only to God alone.” - Samuel J. Butcher

Our feet have been standing within your gates, O Jerusalem.” - Psalm 122:1-2 While a house provides basic shelter, it becomes a home for those who dwell in it. In this year 2006, Precious Moments has come “home”, and Sam hopes you will agree that this year encompasses the sense of wonder, love, and inspiration that Precious Moments has always tried to communicate.
2007 Hammer | “For every house is built by someone, but God is the builder of everything." - Hebrews 3:4

In all he does, he prospers.” – Psalm 1:3 The tree not only represents the importance of a deeply rooted foundation, but also of the life-giving fruit it bears. Standing tall, with its branches outstretched, the tree is a reassuring source of shade and shelter; it is a symbol of past and present, of prosperity and hope, and is a vibrant living example of strength through adversity.
2011 Inheritance Scroll | “I will give your descendants all this land I promised them, and it will be their inheritance forever." - Exodus 32:13 In 2011, Samuel J. Butcher announced that his daughter, Deb would work alongside him to carry on the Precious Moments legacy. It is fitting that the Inheritance Scroll was chosen as the production mark that year. Each one of us leaves a legacy whether we create a loving family, a successful business, or a treasured recipe, we find joy in leaving a lasting positive influence for generations to come.
2012 Box with Bow | “And now these three remain; faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love." - 1 Corinthians 13:13 Whether a gift is material or spiritual, it must be accompanied by love to be of value. Since the beginning, the design of each and every Precious Moments figurine has been inspired by only the most loving intentions. The creator of Precious Moments believes that the greatest gift of all is love itself. The “box with bow” symbol reminds us why we give and the importance of love.
2013 Flame | “Jesus said, I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness but will have the light of life.” - John 8:12 In this passage, Jesus is talking about faith – an inner peace that shines with love and hope. When our life is guided by faith, this endless beam lights the way, no matter which path we follow. From the beginning, each piece in the Precious Moments Collection has brightened the lives of others. The inspiring flame symbol serves as a loving reminder that you are never alone.
2014 Chapel | “Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise; give thanks to Him and praise His name.” Psalm 100:4 The 25 th Anniversary of the Precious Moments Chapel was celebrated in 2014. Butcher created the Precious Moments Chapel as a gift of thanksgiving to the Lord.

2016 Open Door | “Open to me the gates of righteousness; I will go into them, and I will praise the Lord.” – Psalm 118:19 We serve a God who has the power to open and close doors in our lives. He grants us opportunities that are otherwise unaffordable with our meager resources, experience, or knowledge. God connects us with people who play significant roles in our lives – our future spouse, employer, or a neighbor who needs to know Him. We must be open, receptive, and responsive because doors opened by God are often entryways to His will for us.
2017 Lighthouse | “Your word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path…”- Psalm 119:105 “And God said, ‘Let there be light,’ and there was light. God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness. God called the light ‘day’ and the darkness he called ‘night’. And there was evening, and there was morning, the first day.” – Genesis 1:5 “O descendants of Jacob, come, let us walk in the Lord’s guiding light.” - Isaiah 2:5 Lighthouses are never specifically mentioned in the Bible (the closest mention being a “light on a hill”). However, a lighthouse shows the way and warns of danger. As Christians, we are called to be a beacon or a lighthouse so that others can see the way to eternal life through Jesus Christ. The lighthouse is used to reflect God’s guidance and words, and it represents God’s power to protect and comfort. The beacon symbolizes the light of Christ that Christians use as a guide for life. The light also represents salvation and hope for those who are spiritually lost.
2018 Rock | “And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock, I will build my church.” - Matthew 16:18 We, like Peter, strive to be a foundation of our faith. |
